Libby has over 10 years experience of working with early years students and 5 years experience of teaching music and movement in nurseries in the UAE. This experience combined with her passion in improving dance and physical education in the early years makes her an asset to any Nursery team
Helen trained with the Royal Academy of Dance to gain her professional dance teachers diploma. Coupled with experience of working in British nurseries before moving to Dubai 5 years ago to teach dance gives her an all round awareness of young children’s needs.
Helen’s extensive knowledge of the early years foundation stage syllabus and her capability of working with children of this age allows her to create and plan lessons that will support all areas of a child’s development.
We offer fun 30 minute Music and Movement sessions for 0 - 5 years during curriculum hours, covering a range of fine and gross motor skills as well as developing areas of learning.
Sessions are specifically tailored to meet your class theme and are run by a fully qualified, experienced and passionate teacher.
The National Ballet Studio will provide weekly music and movement classes from birth to FS1. Teachers will collaborate with class leaders on themes and specific areas of learning to be developed. The students will be awarded with certificates of Achievement at end of every term.
Basic package plus one performance per term from Lollipop theatre. Lollipop offers a professional storytelling session based on the theme of the class. There will be a choice of 2 known story books under each theme. Story- tellers perform energetic, exciting and engaging stories with the aid of voice changes, accents, props, costumes, hats, and sound effects. Performances are 30 minutes each for ages up to 2.5 years, and 45 minutes each session for age 2.5 to 4.5 years
TNBS also offers a one year course (CACHE accreditation pending) run in collaboration with the Early Years Education Services (EYES), to empower teachers to develop and plan their own music and movement classes. This course is an excellent way to fully utilise teaching assistants, especially in the afternoons. One Year of the standard package when a member of nursery staff enrols on the course. After the course is completed, the qualified teacher will continue with the Music and Movement classes and Lollipop theatre will continue to perform once a term.
Children love to dance, it’s as simple as that.
Creative movement aids development and practice of locomotor, non -locomotor, stability, balance and fine motor skills.
Creative movement increases fitness levels , co-ordination and agility. It also instills life long good habits.
Creative movement increases memory and communication skills., singing and playing music creates better readers and, thinkers and learners.
Children are able to realise their own uniqueness, respect differences in others, build self esteem.
Children with special needs can participate at their own level while feeling part of the group and experiencing the joy of learning.
Live theatre is an excellent and stress free way to introduce children to the stories of other cultures, exploring feelings, and learning to respect one another. Watching live theatre will increase vocabulary, improve listening and concentration skills in an exciting and entertaining environment.
Following the success of CPD courses we have written a one year course designed to provide teachers with the relevant skills to be able to provide music and movement sessions themselves with in their own nursery. The course has been CACHE accreditted and is run through Early Years Education Services. The course includes both written work and practical training. Course tutors are Libby Johnson and Helen Ainsworth. To find out more please contact EYES .
